New Release: At Sun's Rising

April 2020

I'm thrilled to announce the release of At Sun's Rising, Sunscapes novella! This story is set in the same universe as the Sunscapes Trilogy, in the same timeframe as the end of Dawn of the Red Sun, and even cameos the hero and heroine from that last book in the trilogy. It tells a piece of the action I wasn't able to fit into the third book from the viewpoint of two beleaguered clerics. I hope readers enjoy the extra taste of the Sunscapes universe!

At Sun's Rising now available through several retailers, including Amazon, B&N, and Kobo: Universal Buy Link

Update on Publishing Process

June 2016

My manuscript, Vessel of Power, is nearing the end of the editing phase of publication. It's been an exciting, enlightening process for me, and I'm in awe of my editor. She is amazing! This manuscript doesn't have a release date yet, but will be included in The Wild Rose Press' Fantasy Rose line. Vessel of Power will soon be available at: The Wild Rose Press

In related news, the title Last Chance, Book 1 in the Sunscapes Trilogy, has been retired pending revisions and submission to The Wild Rose Press for publication. I used what I learned from my editor in revising this work and I'm so pleased with the results, a much cleaner story I hope will make a wonderful edition to The Wild Rose Press' catalog.

Completed Manuscript

July 2015

All good things must come to an end...including fantastic tales of distant lands and wonderous people. Though it's always hard to let go, I'm excited to complete my latest work, a paranormal/fantasy romance titled Vessel of Power. Now for the rest of the job--getting the manuscript ready for publication! For the curious among you, read on for an introduction to my newest joy.

Vessel of Power

Lia must stop the Elemental Prince at all costs. Prince Destin is searching for the Vessel of Power, an object containing the might of the gods. Lia is afraid he’ll turn it over to his soulless father, the Elemental High King, and begin the destruction of their entire world. Starting with her family. Lia is all that stands between Destin and the Vessel, and she’ll do whatever it takes to protect it. Even kill him. Except she can’t seem to end this magnetic prince of fire…

Destin won’t let anything stand in his way, even a gorgeous changeling with mayhem on her mind. He’s determined to do his duty, to prove his worth as son and heir, and retrieve the Vessel for his father. That kind of inconceivable power must be contained, and he trusts his king to do it. Lia challenges him at every turn, an obstacle he must remove. But he burns whenever he’s near this tantalizing wild changeling…

Let the Hunt begin...for great SciFi Romance!
Latest Amazon Review

June 2015

Best Read in a WHILE! Adventure, Stubborn Hero, an Android, and a VERY Cute Kid!

"The Huntress" by Michelle O'Leary is one of the best books I've read in a long time. It's an easy 5 stars!

So many things make this stand out for me.

1) The Huntress, Mea, reminds me a bit of the comic book character Elektra; she's very attuned to the world around her with or without the benefit of light, and she's been trained by the best with all the right kick**s moves. She is also enhanced with extra strength scientifically. She's a tough, independent woman. Yet, she's also a woman with a huge soft spot.

2) Her counterpart is a lifelong criminal. When she sets her sights on him, she intends to arrest him, but decides to make him her personal quarry instead. He's a match for her sensitivity to the dark due to MANY years of imprisonment. He's had to be strong physically to survive, so he's a fair match there too. Cracking his stubborn emotional wall is something Mea may not be strong enough to do alone, however. Thankfully, she isn't in it alone...

3) We have Regan, who is a delightfully precocious ten-year-old girl just as strong as the adults, whom she ends up spending some unexpected time with for a while... What I got a kick out of in this was that *some* of this story was told from her POV, though not all of course. It gave the book a lightheartedness when it needed it I think. She's a lovable character. She had me giggling like crazy at certain points.

All three characters start out unrelated.

This book brought out more emotion than is usual for me. I teared up towards the end in a few places. Even in one place where knew—I was POSITIVE—it would be okay, I wasn't, and it got to me. This book is like that.

The guy is a pain. He takes 75% of the book to see what's in front of him as is the case in these stories. And, no, I won't say what occurred was once he was aware. I will say that he waited until he was stranded to figure it out, though. So, he was definitely In need of another miracle...

The couple save each other literally. Figuratively, I'll leave for you to read. I just want to state that the balance of power is there. Neither is weak, and, when they aren't paying attention, they actually both become stronger because of the other. The failing is much more on the man's side, but the woman is a woman, so she loses it at some point too. We all do.

There's adventure, spaceflight, escapes, and life or death scenarios. The love scenes are much more sensual than blatantly graphic, which, for me, was a nice change. There's quite a bit of violence in a couple of scenes both past and present tense. The only rape trigger is in a paste tense quick reference. Nothing graphic or present tense.

I read this in a day, and I loved every moment of it. Highly recommended! Sometimes, we need someone else to both save us and let us know that we are worth saving... Sometimes, love is in the most unexpected place imaginable... And, sometimes, if you go through Hell and come out through the other side, you wind up in Heaven! Of course, sometimes not... Read to find out!
